How I dealt with negative thoughts

I get asked this a lot so I thought I would explain how I dealt with my negative thoughts years ago as my ‘simple’ way has helped so many people.

It’s all about ‘conscious’ living and being aware of how you are feeling, almost on a moment by moment basis.

When I felt full of fear or low, I would ask myself ‘what am I thinking about?’ and sure enough I would be thinking about all the things that were NOT right in my life, or all the things I was worried might or might not happen!

I always acknowledged the thought (as things were pretty grim at the time), and then converted my inner critic to become my inner coach,  saying to myself something like this..

“OK it’s perfectly natural that I am having you, negative thought, but I’m letting you go now as I am not going to give you any power over me…..” and I would immediately replace it with thoughts of gratitude for all the things that were right in my life and the people I love.

I would also give my life positive direction by shifting my focus to where I did want to get to and I opened my mind up to finding the solutions to any problems I was encountering.

Remember, a negative thought only has power over you, if you react to it and give it emotion.  The way we feel in every moment is what we are creating and attracting into our lives.

The bottom line is watch your negative self-talk!  It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I hope you find this helpful.  It is no point knowing what to do, just do what you know!

The Sue Stone Foundation and our positive message is spreading far and wide. If you would like to be part of our team, we can now offer training anywhere in the world.

Why our thoughts are so powerful

Here is a short video where I am explaining about how the conscious and subconscious minds work. If you knew how powerful your thoughts are you would never think a negative thought again!

Just by changing our thoughts, we can attract into our lives happiness, love, success and anything we choose. If all you think about is negative things and are always focusing on doom and gloom, then you will be certain to attract more doom and gloom.

If you focus on everything that is good around you, and anticipate wonderful things, staying in that vibration is a fantastic way to start training your mind to become the positive happy person you desire to be.

No-one need go it alone

I’ve been chatting with one of my lovely coaches, Denise from Bournemouth and I felt inspired to write a few words.

This time of year can be one of great joy and celebration, a coming together of families and loved ones to feast, share gifts and spend time with each other.  However, we are also very aware how the pressure to buy presents when money is tight and unresolved emotional conflict within families etc is very much heightened and intensified at this time.

For many this can also be a time of desperation and loneliness.

I don’t want to dwell on the negative, but I do feel we should all think about how we can help one another.  Do you know someone who is alone this Christmas?  Just a phone call can make such a difference.  We as a family are having friends over to share our feast who otherwise would be on their own.

Going deeper than that, if YOU are feeling lonely and desperate, please do not feel you are alone.  Remember to ASK for help, BELIEVE it will come and be OPEN to RECEIVE the help.  Help can come disguised in all sorts of ways.

Far from wanting to sound corny, but I, Natalie (my daughter and PA) and all my coaches within the Sue Stone Foundation really do care.  So please do pick up the phone or send an email, a few supporting words can make such a difference.

Find a coach you are drawn to here and find the courage to make contact, NO-ONE NEED GO IT ALONE. (I’m not talking about booking a session).

Just about every one of my coaches, me included, has felt desperate at some point in our lives.

Always look on the bright side if you want to win

On Sunday 20th November I read a great piece in The Sunday Times newspaper titled ‘Always look on the bright side if you want to win’ by Adrian Furnham who is a professor of psychology at University College in London. It starts ‘The advent of positive psychology and the realisation that money is only weakly related to well being has led to a flurry of books on happiness.’

We all know if we go to the ‘self help’ section of a book shop/library we see many books about this including my book ‘Love Life, Live Life’. http://www.suestone.com/sue-stone-book.html They are all unique but all want the same, to help people.

The article talks about EI (Emotional Intelligence). ‘People with more EI are happier. They are more perceptive and sensitive to others; more rewarding and more fun; more adaptable and flexible. They find it easier to make friends and keep them, a crucial ingredient for happiness.’

‘Compared with unhappy people, but matched on other criteria such as education, experience, skills, we find that: Happier people get better jobs-with more autonomy, variety and meaning. Happier chief executives have happier people working for them. Happier people show better job performance. Happier people make more money. These findings occur across different jobs and in different countries-everyone from German businessmen to Malaysian farmers.’

I am a firm believer that if you get your attitude and happiness right, everything else falls into place. This article is very interesting and if you would like to have a look at it you can click here -> Bright Side of Winning.
